AA is working with Riverside County Transportation Commission and Operation Lifesaver to develop a campaign to target schools, neighborhoods, and community organizations to educate them about the dangers of illegally crossing railroad tracks. Operation Lifesaver is a non-profit educational organization that teaches communities about railroad track safety through safety education presentations and outreach events.
- AA has established strong working relationships with nine Riverside County School Districts to implement the Operation Lifesaver program on each school campus.
- AA works with UC Riverside and other local colleges to share rail safety messages through social media, on-campus events, electronic billboards, bookmarks, and drink coasters.
- AA attends highly trafficked events to set up informational booths throughout the county, such as farmers markets, community events, movies at the parks, health fairs, and many other events that occur year around.
- AA has enhanced the outreach program with the use of videos, social media posts, movie theatre ads, pole banners and street decals to further push out the project message.
